For example, if an art requires x8 Time, x3 Space and x3 Mirage, the elemental values of all quartz in a line need to add up to at least this. When the sum of the elemental values of all quartz in a line reach a certain threshold, the character gains access to a given art. So, for example, a quartz might have an elemental value of x5 Fire, and x3 Wind. So, for example, Estelle has two lines, with the middle slot shared between both lines.Įach quartz, on top of its passive bonus, has an associated elemental value. These six slots are further divided into lines (between 1 and 4 depending on the character). For example, Joshua has slots locked to Time quartz, meaning only Time Quartz (which are black) can be equipped in those slots. Some slots are locked to quartz of a certain element (as indicated by color, as well as the description). These quartz provide passive bonuses such as stat increases or a chance to inflict status ailments when using physical attacks. Basically it works like so:Įvery character has six slots which you can add quartz to.

It's fairly simple once you get a hang of it, but it's also pretty unconventional. The orbment system isn't super well explained because they give you the tutorial before you have enough quartz to engage with it meaningfully.
